Almost there. I have started taking pictures as a technique to look for mistakes and final details for improvement, so I will not say that he is done yet. Pretty close though...
I think the waystone on the ribcage armour needs to be painted purple as the gems on the gun... And maybe the blue gem should go purple also... Definately some slightly starker shading in the grills on the helmet, red/purple I think. The brown pants could do with a bit of jazz also... Anything else?
I am really happy with the way the gun looks, and also the yellow came out very much like I envisioned it.
blue gems purple for sure. The rest looks pretty awesome to me though
ReplyDeletePurple gems. Done. Cheers.
DeleteDo the pants need some sort of freehand as well?
ReplyDeleteYeah. Maybe. Or maybe just plain black. Cheers.
DeleteWhat colours did you use for the shrieker cannon? Did you use one of the schemes from your Dire Avengers?
ReplyDeleteThe black is a little more complicated here. Black mixed with purple and blue wash and water washed over the weapon. Then highlights of light grey. Then glazing down using red wash mixed with black paint. Then redi the highlights and finally some subtle glazing of a warm brown in certain places to break the black. It is a little hard to explain.
DeleteBut I am trying to work out an army style execution of this kind of black finish. A seriously faster approach, but lets see.
Nice work! :)
ReplyDeleteWarburton
Thanks a lot!
DeleteWow, he is looking really nice. I really like how you have done the yellow on his coat, it has sort of a drab, muted look to it. I like the brown pants too; they are a far departure what you normally see, but I sort of like that. Maybe consider painting some patterns or flames on his pants? Similar to his collar?
ReplyDeleteAwesome work regardless!
Thanks. Thinking about black trousers with yellow flames. Or just simply black weathered trousers.
DeletePost apocalyptic glam rock elf. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yeah, there is something very 80s about these models.
